Eprints Done!

Well I have just completed the Eprints assignment which is a major relief. Since I started my searches this week many of my selections were already in the repository which made my task very much irritating. So I ended up searching for a while in order to find selections that weren't already selected. Anyhow I accomplished another assignment and it feels good. Now I will be starting my Koha assignment hopefully this assignment won't be so tiresome.

Hurry Up Already! & Congrats Class of '08

I am thoroughly upset with part 2 of the Scopus/ Google Schoar assignment. I've been trying to properly share my RSS feeds for several days now and I promise I will get it before 12pm tonight. Besides my RSS complications, I was proud to see my oldest daughter graduate from 8th grade and receive soooo many awards. Next journey high school hopefully she will stay focused, independent, intelligent and happy. So I want to give a shout out to graduating classes of '08. May you all live your dreams!

Google Apps Yeahhhhh!

Breath of Fresh Air

I submitted my WorldCat assignment a few days ago again I was surprised about how easy it was (assuming I executed the assignment properly). I was still a little flustered after the booktagging/metadata assignment, so the WorldCat assignment was a breath of fresh air! However I started looking over the Scopus assignment and I could feel the tension and headache all over again!

Thoroughly Upset & Tired!

Well, I just posted my booktagging/metadata assignment and boy was it a struggle. I thought the complicated part would be gathering my tags but to my surprise it was exporting/importing to RefWorks that did me in. First, my computer had a nervous breakdown yesterday and I couldn't use it until 4am today. To say the least, I've been up since dealing with this assignment. I have to admit since I did not have any directions on how to execute this assignment (for reasons I'll leave anonymous) I feel I great sense of pride and happiness in my final results. I have come to the conclusion that this class will be very hands-on and trail-and-error. Thanks a bunch Dr. Tomer! What won't kill me only makes me tougher and more resourceful. Peace.

Information Building

I thought this YouTube clip was fitting for this course! Enjoy!

So Much Info!

For the past several days I have been introduced to a vast amount of tech information. For example, I never noticed how many blogspot.com addresses are within Google searches. Honestly a majority of my Google inquiries for the tagging assignment were blogspot.com links. I never realized the vast amount of info. available through blogs. Another, technology capability I was unaware of prior to this course is RSS feed, I mean, I'm able to have news important to me feed to me daily, what a great tool! However, while I've been enlightened by so much technology information I've also realized how many people don't how access to this important information let alone a computer. So for the last couple of days I've been pondering over the pros and cons of technology and, of course, tagging.
